This command directs one remote IRC server to connect to a different remote IRC server. This is mostly useful for fixing netsplits. This command accepts 2 arguments, the remote server currently on the network, and the remote server to which it should connect. For instance, to connect tesla-hub.ravenchat.net to irc.ravenchat.net when both servers are remote, but tesla-hub is still on the network, issue the following command:
/rconnect tesla-hub.ravenchat.net irc.ravenchat.net
The connection will not necessarily succeed. You should have the appropriate snomask set to be able to quickly check for failures and see failure reasons if applicable. To get IRC servers to connect properly, it is sometimes necessary to log onto the virtual private server or dedicated server where the IRC server software is running and change configuration settings there.
