This is a message that can only be issued by an IRC operator. Unlike wallops, only IRC operators with the correct snomask can view a globops that is sent out. This command takes one argument, the globops message to be sent. One example is as follows:
/globops This is a globops
Note that not all clients will support this. If you get an error message, try using /quote or /raw in front of the word globops. Because this command takes an argument that may be more than one word long, you will need to prepend the argument with a : symbol. Otherwise only the first word of your globops will be sent.
The use of the globops command is deprecated. For critical information, it is better to use an IRC operator only channel. While this command is deprecated, the host mask which enables reception of globops is not, as servers and services will sometimes issue them.
